Artemis returned the look from Shura and took the first drink of her iced tea lemonade mix. As she did she took a slim rod of birch, which she began to twirl around in her hand. An observant person may catch a metallic flash as she did so, or a slight split in the seemingly intact wooden rod. However it happened so fast a casual observer wouldn't notice it.

"Sure thing," said Ormen. "Water is free anyways..." he added, passing a glass to Shura. "Unlike the chicken wings," he added dryly. "Can I get you anything to eat with that then?" he said to Shura, while wondering what on Earth Artemis was doing. These events really attracted some of the strangest people....

Whatever Teresa noticed, she simply accepted as part of normal for a convention such as this. It wasn't really her scene, and so she didn't much know whether or not what to be worried about. Instead, finishing her drink and a little uncomfortable at some of the odd behavior, Teresa puts the empty glass upside down on the bar, gets up, and strides away with a tentative smile and nod at the bartender.

While Ivershka hadn't seen the metal gleam, he did hear a click. He wasn't sure what it was, but he could tell it was from one of the women. Were they trying to pick a fight with him? Hopefully not. Maybe if he showed he wasn't a threat to either more explicitly, he'd be able to stay a little longer for information gathering.
He crammed his left hand into his pocket and slammed a thick wad of cash onto the table. He hadn't bothered counting the cash to see if it was exact, but he knew it was enough.
The dragon man then returned his attention to the second plateful. With a repressed disinterest, Ivershka carefully picked apart the meat from the bones into fine strips. Then, he grabbed a fork to cram the shredded meat into his mouth and swallowed.
Ivershka's whole body shivered. That hurt more than he thought. The shredded flesh wasn't a thick enough buffer for his throat. No more chicken or booze. It'd take away what little self-restraint he had from the sudden onset.
"No more." He forced out. He didn't bother tacking an explanation after that.

"Just some chips, thanks," Shura answered, watching as the new arrival left as quickly as she'd come. Maybe she'd picked up on something that wasn't sitting right with her as well.
She jolted a little when more noise came from the dragon's side, but forced herself not to look again. Shura slowly took a drink from her water, noting the apparent discomfort in his voice.
It was then that she noticed Artemis holding something in her peripheral vision. A knife? Though theories came to mind, she figured it would be best to remain quiet about it.

"Of course..." said Ormen, going to fetch a bowl and placing it in front of Shura after scooping up the money that Ivershka had left. "You alright buddy?" he asked the dragon, raising an eyebrow. "I only served you two beers but you're looking a little bugged out." Ormen turned to Shura, giving her a concerned look. "I hope he's not bothering you - that other lady just ran out of here pretty quickly."

Artemis continued fiddling with her stealth butterfly knife, twirling it around in her hand and making sure it didn't open. Fiddling with it helped her nerves, so she wasn't going to stop.
"So what exactly do you put on the Nacho's?"

"Oh, no, it's alright!" Shura shook her head. "Just kinda sounded like he was gonna vom or something." She managed a light-hearted chuckle. "Don't worry about me."
She reached for a chip, feeling her cheeks light up out of embarrassment. That was subtle.

"Well, whatever you want," said Ormen to Artemis. "But standard we have the fixings - cheese, peppers, olives, sour cream, salsa, guac - I can throw on some chicken or pork too if you're more the carnivore," he teased, turning to Shura. "I hope he doesn't, I have to clean up then..." he laughed. "And I'm simply a natural worrier. I'd feel responsible if anything happened in here while I was serving. Out there though," he said, gesturing to the floor. "Well, that's convention security's problem," he joked. "Anyways, Shura, was it?" he continued, as smooth as the scales concealed behind the bar. "What have you seen so far here? Since I'm stuck on duty here you'll just have to tell me all about it and I can imagine it."

"Also had two shots before I came here." Ivershka spat. "Pretty big shots." He glanced at the furthest corner of the room with his blue eyes.
The dragon man was satisfied with giving that explanation until -click-. That noise again! Was it ever going to stop?
He brought one hand up to his head and pressed his palm against his right ear. Ivershka then breathed a sigh of relief. Now he could hear less of the unnerving noise while still keeping an ear out for it.

"Yeah it'd be a shame if someone came down sick, not to mention I'd be less likely to get those nachos." She smirked a bit at shura, but genuine concern was in her voice. After all she may have her suspicions, but she needed to treat everyone as human until the main event.
Artemis nodded, while still twirling her butterfly knife. "I'll have the nachos with cheese salsa and pork please." She asked, twirling the wooden handle/sheath of the butterfly knife.

"Ah, well…" Shura looked away from the bar for a moment, off towards where the vendors were located. "I didn't get a thorough look but there's some booths set up selling all sorts of things. Cute little do-dads and stuff. One of them had to do with alchemy, I think? And I passed an area with lots of comics on display. A good variety overall. Unless you mean the 'monsters' too, which there seems to be no shortage of."
She noticed Artemis' smirk, giving a small one of her own before turning back to Ormen. "You're here all day?"

"I'll get right on that..." said Ormen, arranging what was needed and putting it in the microwave, turning back to Shura. "Hmm. Well that sounds a little interesting. And I'm here for the first half of the day, until that raffle or whatever it is, so maybe when the afternoon shift comes in I can go sample some wares," he said. "Though I'd feel rather silly without a costume. I don't think I'm quite interesting enough to go in plain like yourself," he laughed.

Artemis smiled and continued playing with her butterfly knife. "Yeah like I said it's pretty standard for a convention, at least from what I've seen. Do you know when the costume contest is?"

"Oh, staff is involved with the raffle too?" That was unexpected. Not something she'd heard of before either. "Cool."
Shura paused as she chewed, wondering how badly she stood out. Then Artemis brought up the costume contest again.
"Planning to enter?" she asked. "It's out of the question for me, but I'll go see what it's like."
