Janus was really glad he was able to find the pool. His scales were starting to get dry and being around so many people with dry scales was a great excuse for people to try and steal some of his pretty shimmering scales for themselves. He hated people trying to take his scales, even if he did love the attention of people petting and squeezing over the soft, squishiness of his large tail. He was proud of how big his tail was, after all a lot of cute people and fishies were apart of it. Its what helped keep his scales so healthy and pristine looking. In fact it was the reason he was here. He hoped to get one, maybe two or three people nestled within his tail by the end of the night, though whether he would use them to make his scales pretty and shimmery was to be determined. It took so long for him to digest someone that he was always so fickle about whether he wanted to digest them at all.
Regardless, the sea naga swam through the crowd. His dorsal fins cutting through people as he found the pool and sort of just dove right in. A loud splash filled the area as Janus moved like a fish in water, so smoothly and elegantly that it was almost like he was putting on a show for everyone. Once he surfaced and found himself on the shallow end of the pool, he lounged against the side and basked in the sunlight and water all around him. It wasn't as good as the lake he lived in nearby, but it would be good enough for now!

Lilly, after having left the artist ally there, she decided to look around for another place to relax at and she came across a nice, calm pool! She gasped with delight! Thankfully she believed in coming prepared and she brought a one piece swimsuit. She slinked off somewhere quiet to get changed in a very covering pink and brown swimsuit. Then the young, short lady happily walked to the edge and slowly stepped down inside the water, moving into a swimming position, though she wasn't the best at it. She misjudged how deep it was and started to panic a little, breathing heavily while doing her best to keep calm and keep her swimming movements fluid. She didn't even notice the big naga guy in the quiet corner yet.

Nathan had temporarily closed his booth to take advantage of the available pool. And because it felt amazing to show off he had stopped in a bathroom to adjust his form.
He stepped into the pool in his default human form, save for a set of gills and webbing on his appendages, ala Kevin Costner from Water world.
Sighing at the relief the cool water gave him, he began to slowly make his way around.

Janus had been relaxing, soaking up the sun and letting the water swell into his scales for most of the past hour. It hadn't occurred to him that there were that many people around him, they must not have noticed him or bothered to bug him since he seemed to be lazing about in the water. Except, a few moments ago he had heard a splash in the pool. He opened his half lidded eyes and tilted his head as he saw a flailing mass of pink and brown splashing within the deep end of the pool. Was this girl drowning? He wasn't sure but no one else seemed to be around to help.
With a push off of the side corner, he dove forward, tail swishing and flowing behind him as he swam beneath the surface of the water towards Lilly. His vision underwater wasn't impaired nearly as much as it was above water. He made quick time, and anyone watching him would see that shimmering tail glint and glimmer as it cut through the water with relative ease. Upon reaching Lilly, he circled around her a few times, getting his tail curled around her position, but not actually coiling her up.
Now, he did this so that his tail was beneath her so that when he rose up above the water he could grab ahold of Lilly and hold her above the water a little. "Shh shh. Its ok. You're ok. Water's just a little deep over here." He says to her softly, his voice a bit garbled due to the water dripping from his face. The water seemed to stick to his skin and scales a bit, flowing slowly off of him as he held her arms. In his single minded attempt to save Lilly from her panic, he didn't notice Nathan just yet.

Lilly continued to try and stay calm amd focus on what swimming skills she knew of, but it was failing horribly. It wasn't long before she was struggling in the water like she couldn't swim, the water was deep enough to keep the young lady from just standing up and that's what scared her most. Suddenly she saw something below her, but she couldn't tell what it was, though it was pretty. But she had little time to focus on that now as she just struggled to get her bearings.
Then, before she knew it something grabbed her arms and lifted her up, making Lilly squeal softly with fright at first, but then once she was out and heard a male voice talking to her, she started to calm down. She blinked in shock at the man before her though, but she was thankful and smiled sheepishly. "Thank you mister.... sorry I.... I didn't expect it to be that deep. I panicked... " She wondered how he was sitting like he was though and curiously looked down, seeing the pretty scales under the water, but unable to make out their source.

Nathan noticed the struggling woman and started making his way towards the woman. However by the time he made it there she had already been rescued and was in the arms of a rather strapping looking sea naga.
However he was already approaching the pair so he had to come up with something. Of course the naga had gotten there first because he had been closer, but that didn't excuse Nathan's apparent lack of gallantry. "I'm glad to see that you found a good Samaritan and I apologize for not getting here sooner. You know you have to be careful in hotel pools as they don't usually employ lifeguards. Anyways, I'm Nathan Walker, and you two are?" He extended his hand while using the other to tread water.

Janus chuckled and gently started to guide him and Lilly over to the shallow end of the pool. That long tail glimmered beneath the surface of the way, shifting beneath her as he kept himself afloat with her in his arms. Janus tried his best to use his hips to keep him afloat so it looked like that tail was just sort of floating there, settling in the water as he slowly pulls Lilly to the shallows. Once there, he places her down so that her feet can touch the bottom of the pool and gives her a warm smile.
"You gotta be more careful, especially when you're in the water. A moment of panic is the difference between life and death in here you know!" He says with a soft gentle tone. When Nathan swims over to them, he nods at his statement. "Yeah, if there isn't anyone around when you're surrounded by sharks, you're doomed if you panic." He nods knowingly. "Names Janus! Pleasure to meet you two."

To be honest, Suzune had wondered about the hotel pool. Did most cons even use a pool? She hadn't really been to one before, but she had, all the same, brought her best bikini all the same, the white fabric soft and actually resistant against going transparent, even having little crystal-like amber designs on it! ...And she was able to show off her bosom a bit better than in her normal clothes (which were hidden away in whatever locker or other place was provided)... not that she was sure, now, that flaunting it was a good idea. S-so many pretty girls and hot boys. That some of their costumes seemed to work fine in water was amazing (almost too amazing, but she wasn't at that point yet)...
...So, with Janus, Lilly, and Nathan gathering near the shallows, they were near enough to see the nervous-looking girl with the soft (and brightish) green eyes sort of... almost trembling out of nerves at the edge of the pool. ...Practically staring at them.
"C-can I... come in?" This was a public pool Suzune, what the hell.

Lilly was thankful for the help and once she felt her feet touch the bottom, she sighed with relief. Now this she was okay with. But now at least she realized just how bad it could of been if no one was here and she showed up. She nodded softly to the man's words, biting her lip. But then she perked up when she heard someone coming over, spotting Nathan. "Oh, my name's Lilly, it's nice to meet you both. Sorry about my scene.... " She blushed a tiny bit in embarrassment over the whole thing, almost killing herself when it wasn't that necessary if she just focused hard enough.
She turned her head to one side to see the other girl, making her perk up some and smile. "I think everyone is allowed ma'am, but I personally have no objections, just be careful! " Lilly told the equally, if not more so, shy girl.

"The pleasure is all mine. And speaking of sharks, I run an outdoor adventure business. If you guys want you can come visit my booth. After I finish in here, of course." Nathan smiled almost paternally at Lilly as she apologized. "No reason for you to apologize. You underestimated the depth and panicked. It can happen to the best of us."
He looked up at the shy voice and nodded encouragingly. "Come on in, the water's fine but it does get a bit deep over on that end, so if I were you, I'd use those stairs.

Janus looked at the new comer with a curious look. "Sure, you come on in, but be careful of what lies within the water." He says with a sly grin, allowing his tail to float to the surface. A string a shark like fins pierce the surface of the water. That tail moves slightly to make it look like they were swishing and swaying in the water. The blue scales glimmer in the sunlight as they bob against the surface of the water.
He turned to Lilly and Nathan again and smiled, "A pleasure to meet both of you, Lilly, Nathan. What's brought you over pool side, hm?" He asks them curiously. There were so many other things that they could be doing at the con after all. He stretched happily, letting the sun soak into his skin as he lays himself on his back in the water, floating and twisting a bit. He listened to Nathan's offer and chuckled, "Perhaps I'll have a visit to it after I'm done soaking everything up here. The water is very good for my... uhh.. suit. Helps keep it buoyant and soft feeling." He says with a nod. He had ot make sure to pretend his tail was apart of some costume. This was going to be hard.

Suzune gently nodded at the warnings and greetings. "I'm good at swimming so I don't think it'll be that big an issue, but thanks anyway." So, gingerly, she stepped in, and sort of settled on a pool step a bit nearer to Lilly. Because boys. Intimidating! She was right next to them oh god. ...Some gawks were had at the shark-fin display, though. "That kind of costume... I'm r-really impressed actually." She bit her lip, looking as if she was going to ask something else, but refrained from it. It was likely an embarrassing something, from how her cheeks flushed a little more when she visibly hesitated, though~
"I mean, like. Being here in a pool gives it a sort of weird... house party atmosphere, doesn't it? I m-mean lots of cons don't reserve the pool after all..." She said, nervously chuckling afterwards. "Oh!" She thought of one last thing. "...My name's Suzune, by the way."

Lilly saw the sly grin the sea naga gave the girl and was a little confused by it, but soon brushed it off as it just being because of what happened to her. Guys were weird like that to her anyway, especially in this town. "Yeah, really do be careful, it was scary when I was panicking.... I am sure this nice guy will help you though! Or Nathan here! " She said, pointing to the two men in question. Lilly smiled as the new girl came in next to her, the blonde feeling the same way. Guys were intimidating, especially those that were at the convention, it seemed all of them were big and playful. "I know right? That tail is amazing! Which.... I didn't notice until I was here, but wow.... How does it function underwater? Wouldn't the robot parts shortout? " The young lady asked the naga, assuming it was ran by electric robotic parts. "Nice to meet you miss Suzune, my name is Lilly! " She cheered happily, seeming quite giddy now.

Nathan smiled and leaned so he was practically floating on his back. "Simple I needed a break from running my booth and I decided to use it to cool down away from the crowds." He grinned in a friendly manner, clearly enjoying the coolness of the water along with the sense of camaraderie that was building between the members of the group. Nathan grinned and nodded at the sea naga. "Sure thing I'll save the some brochures for the trips that include swimming in the itinerary." He almost sympathized with the struggle the sea naga had. It seemed to him like Janus was one of the unfortunate majority of monsters who assumed they could easily explain their bodies as a costume. As a shapeshifter, Nathan was all too familiar with the fine line between a realistic costume and a "too realistic costume." Which is why he did his best to make his alterations appear hollywood quality, from about a decade ago.
"Well hello Suzune. I suppose since this con is smaller that most they did their best to pull out all the stops to make sure everyone has a good time. I mean most don't have a con wide closing event either but here we are with one on the schedule." He shrugged. "It's why I keep coming back, aside from the chance at cheap advertising. It's that sense of something out of the ordinary that makes this place special."
Nathan shrugged as they continued fawning over the "robotic" tail. Obviously it wasn't robotic but he couldn't give away the game. But he did feel that the naga might have trouble responding to the questions so he briefly interjected. "I'm sure it's waterproofed. After all people built a robot that looks and swims like a fish so efficient waterproofing is not only possible but it's already been done."
