Janet nodded, biting her lip as she lifted the anthology her sister had gotten her out of the gift bag. "Yeah just a bit uh overwhelmed. Th-thank you sis." She whimpered, blushing.
Jackie shrugged. "And thanks for the carving, it'll look great on my dresser." She smiled and hugged her sister before backing away. "Well I gotta get going again. I heard there's a dance and I want to see if I can get something a bit more formal so I can go to the dance and get some more pictures. So take care you two crazy lovebirds." She smirked and headed away.

Speaking of lovebirds…
A rainbow of colors shifts as a man of middling height approaches. An elaborate feather cloak covers him from shoulders to waist; a carved wooden mask depicting a hawk's visage hides his face. Under the cloak comes a muffled clinking and jingling. The wild mane of hair he sports is strange as well, a chaotic mix of curly and straight and frizzy, of red and black and gold and brown.
"Excuse me," Monty says, turning to the proprietor. The words coming from beneath the mask sound like the notes of a flute. "You sell these carvings?" A hand peeps carefully out from under the cloak to gesture at the wares.

He saw briefly the anthology her sister got her, a bit curious about what was inside but he didn't wish to pry. Instead he just nodded politely to Jackie with a soft smile. "Do be careful and have fun lass! " He called to her sister as she left. Just as he was about to give Janet another hug, he suddenly saw something brightly colored and moving at the corner of his eye stopped him.
Tyrone straightened up but stayed beside his little Janet, watching the interesting ball of color with the wooden mask. "Aye that I do sell these, were ye lookin' for one perhaps? " He asked in a friendly voice, not seeming freaked out by the odd sounding voice that came from him.

Janet moved out of the way. After all she didn't want to impede a sale.

"Hmm, yes. Very nice workmanship." Monty is no craftsman; the artistry of even these humble pieces startles him.
He takes the hand to his mask and removes it, revealing a sharp-featured but human face. Ears and eyebrows alike are crowded with piercings. His sky-blue eyes examine a tiny wooden bird. "This one," he says. "It is the most like me, I think."
He holds it up for Tyrone to see. "What do you want for it?"

Tyrone was surprised some to see the man's face after he tooo his mask off, having expected something more bird like or something. He saw Janet move away and gave her a tender smile, understanding why she moved back though. He gazed at the tiny bird the man picked and smiled, he liked that one, he put some good effort in that piece. "Why thank ye, it's simply a hobby but I have too many of these little things. For that one.... 2 dollars, because it's kind of small. " He said, hoping that seemed fair to him.

Janet smiled back at Tyrone. Though the price might have seemed fair to her new lover, she really thought it was easily worth twice that. "Honey aren't you lowballing yourself?"
Janet asked in concern as she wondered how the patron would react.

Uh-oh. Two dollars?
Monty's eyes flick down to the wrinkled bill pinned to the inside of his cloak. I only have one! It never even occurs to the Taker of Lovers that that one bill is worth more than twice what Tyrone asks. Mountain Shrike thinks for a moment, rubbing the fingers of one hand over the rings on the other...
"My funds are dangerously depleted at this venture," Monty admits as quietly as possible. "Perhaps a barter would be possible?" He peers at the cute redhead that had been flirting with Tyrone as discreetly as he can, focuses in on her hands until he has an idea of her ring size. Pretending to delve back into his cloak for it, Monty actually secrets a shiny gold band off one of his fingers and carefully raises it to Tyrone's eyes.
"I'm no expert, but it looks like your sweetie has fallen for you. Trade a token for your trinket?"

Tyrone didn't see the bill, otherwise he would have said something and the poor fella wouldn't have to give up a ring. But he noticed the man seemed troubled about something, two dollars wasn't too much was it? Then Janet spoke up, saying he was underpricing himself. Perhaps yes, but he wasn't a professional carver. "Hmm, maybe lass, but I can't change it now, that would be unfair to the gentleman here. " He said, looking to the sweet little lady with a apologetic smile.
When the customer raised up the ring, Tyrone yelped from instinct and leaned back, eyes wide in alarm as he bared his broken fang for a second. He quickly relaxed though and took in the situation, but still refused to touch the gold ring, as pretty as it was. "Oh no no, that ring has to be worth way more then the carvin'..... How about ye pick a few more carvin's and I will pay the difference? " The densin offered with a friendly smile now

"Ok but after this we need to go over your prices." She smiled lovingly at Ty. "I don't want you undervaluing yourself again. You're a wonderful talented man." She patted him reassuringly and probably would have done more if the customer weren't there.
Janet gasped when she saw the ring but paused when she notice the way Tyrone reacted to it. "Or maybe you could pick a trinket made of a less expensive metal?" She suggested helpfully. After all she didn't want anything that would hurt her lover.

Of course! My spoils are too valuable for this stand! I wonder, though…
He gives Tyrone a conspiratorial glance. "I'm considering opening a booth of my own, selling tokens such as this." He sets the carved bird down, reluctantly. "Make sure and bring the bird, and we can do business then."
He also silently notes to himself the initial uneasiness in Tyrone's eyes, his refusal to touch the ring. Is he vulnerable to gold? He stores that nugget of thought away for later, though he doubts he will need it.

Tyrone blushed some to how insistent she was, smiling at her and happily wrapping arm around her to bring her close after she patted him. "Okay love, I promise we'll talk later. " He assured with a loving gaze, not caring if the other man saw or not how much he adored her. "Aye, we can trade a silver ring or somthin' similar. " He agreed with Janet.
He listened to what the man had to say, nodding softly. "Alright.... that sounds good, right Janet? " He asked her with a warm smile. Clearly business wasn't Tyrone's forte.

Jackie smiled at his suggestion. "Sure and I can either keep an eye on the stand or go and finish the negotiations after we finish the pricing."
She grinned and gripped onto her lover protectively. And of course she let his hand pull her into his embrace. Far be it from her to resist cuddles from Tyrone. "Of course. So how long should we wait before one of us heads over?'

"Sure," he says to Tyrone. "Silver is fine." With a bit of mundane prestidigitation he "vanishes" the gold ring and pulls a similar, silver ring seemingly from the air.
When Janet inquires about when to come calling, he tosses off an estimate. "An hour, give or take."
Slipping both rings onto his finger, Monty disappears into the crowd, in search of a certain centaur.

Tyrone hummed adoringly to Janet, still keeping her close but his arm loose enough to let her slip away. "Whichever one ye want to do my little lass. " He visablly settled down when the gold was put away and the silver was revealed. "Alright. We'll drop by in a hour then! " He said, watching the man disappear into the crowd with ease. Then it seemed the two were left alone again.
